North Dakota Abortion Statistics for the Year 2006


North Dakota averages over 1,200 abortions per year. North Dakota's abortion numbers rose to an all time high in 1982 at 3,076 abortions. Since that time, North Dakota has seen a steady decline in the number of abortions performed each year with the abortion rate staying at 1,200 to 1,400 abortions per year since 1994.

Note: The Department of Health states that the reason some of the total numbers do not equal the state occurrence is due to confidentiality issues. The Department does not release totals under 6 (six) for most categories. It has been determined that lower numbers could result in the identification of an individual.
